U.S. Secretary of State: Moscow ‘kept lying in my face’ about Ukraine
Russia is engaged in a rather remarkable period of the most overt and extensive propaganda since ‘the cold war’, John Kerry said.
Russia has lied him ‘in the face’ many times about Ukraine, U.S. State Secretary John Kerry claimed.
The American official announced it when making a speech for the United States Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, BBC reports. United States Senator and member of the Republican Party Lindsey Graham asked Kerry whether Russia was lying about the situation in East Ukraine. Kerry said yes.
"Russia is engaged in a rather remarkable period of the most overt and extensive propaganda exercise that I've seen since the very height of the Cold War", the Secretary of State replied.
Official Moscow is refuting he fact that its troops are fighting in Ukraine although it admits that Russian volunteers are engaged in the conflict. Russia is also refuting that it is supplying arms to separatists while the western states consider such statements a lie.
Kerry refused to comment on American congressmen’s appeals to supply arms to Ukraine. According to him, this measure is still being discussed by representatives of Barack Obama’s administration.
