USA abolishes visas for citizens of seven more countries
Inhabitants of six EU member states – Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Slovakia, Czechia and Estonia and citizens of South Korea have been allowed to enter the USA without visas starting from today, November 17.
According to AFR, citizens of these countries will not need visas to visit the USA for tourist or business purposes. However, they will have to get visas to study or work in the USA. The USA is conducting negotiations with other EU visa required member states: Bulgaria, Greece, Cyprus, Malta, Poland and Romania.
It is expected that a non-visa regime may be introduced for them before January 20 when the new American President elect Barack Obama comes into power.
