US, EU ready to expand Russia sanctions
The United States and European Union are set to expand sanctions against Russia, if the conflict in Ukraine is not settled.
The US and its allies are ready to expand their Russia sanctions, said spokesperson for the United States Department of State Jen Psaki.
In particular, Washington and Brussels are working on increasing Russia’s expenses ‘for its inadmissible behaviour’, she claimed. The European Union is considering sanctions directed against pro-Russia separatists, the spokesperson for the United States Department of State said.
The new sanctions will be imposed on Russia unless there is a way to settle the conflict in East Ukraine.
NATO confirmed the OSCE’s report about Russia sending troops and military equipment to Ukraine on Wednesday. The Russian Ministry of Defence and deputy permanent representatives of Russia in the UN Alexander Pankin refuted the information.
