US to introduce new Russia sanctions on Friday
President Barrack Obama says the United States follows the European Union with a new set of sanctions against Russia over Ukraine.
"We are going to join the European Union in it,” he said and added that coordinated Russia sanctions were a response to Russia’s illegal activities in Ukraine (Russia has brought its troops and APCs there and keeps destabilizing the situation). Sanctions imposed on the financial, emerge and defense sectors will be expanded, Barrack Obama said. “The measures will enhance Russia’s political isolation and the economic price for Russia in the branches important for Putin and his circle,” the U.S. President announced.
The details will be available on Friday, September 12. The new sanctions imposed on Russia by the European Union will also be published on this day.
