Vasil Bykov's 85th birthday anniversary marked in Vitsebsk
The Literature Museum in Vitsebsk held a function to mark the 85th birthday anniversary of Belarus' legendary writer Vasil Bykov. Artists, writers, teachers and other local intellectuals attended the event.
An exhibition devoted to Vasil Bykov was unveiled to showcase the books of the writer as well as interesting photos and documents.
Valery Mahuchy, a co-author of Vasil Bykov's memorial board, said during the even that a monument to honor Vasil Bykov should be erected in Vitsebsk. He described the writer as "the apostle of the thruth".
