Ukrainians in military uniform seize Russian pavilion in Venice
They are planning to continue their action until May 9.
Ukrainians seized the Russian pavilion at Venice biannual festival on the very first day. People in military uniform with the inscription ‘on vacation’ sized the Russian pavilion at the biggest exposition of modern art, platfor.ma reports.
Ukrainians repeated the words of Russian men in green and said that they were on vacation. Participants of the performance urged the present to join ‘the vacation’. The author of the best photograph was promised a trip to Crimea.
The Ukrainian painters’ action was a reflection of the events in Crimea in 2014 when ‘anonymous’ soldiers occupied the peninsula, the organizers told journalists. The performance will last until May 9.
The owners of the Russian pavilion called the police only an hour later. They wanted to clear the pavilion. By the way, Ukrainians promised to continue their action near the Russian pavilion.
