Video engineer imprisoned for 2 years for porn on BelMuzTV (video)

The former video engineer of BelMuzTV was returned guilty of producing and distributing porn, BELTA reports. Compulsory treatment and safety measures will also be applied to the man who “committed suicide attempts in the past”.

A pornographic video was shown on BelMuzTV at about 4 p.m. on April 13. People started reporting the incident on the Internet. A criminal case was started.

The suspect was detained later – a video engineer of the TV channel. Euroradio learnt some details of the case. The suspect pled guilty and explained the reason for his deed, Minsk Investigation Committee reported.

"He is from Mahilyou. He explained his deed by his depression caused by the fact that he had broken up with his girlfriend. He decided to express his protest that way.”

The video engineer “was broadcasting a porn video for 10 minutes,” the police found out. He put the porn video into the playlist, closed the door and left the room. Then he broke the key and left saying that needed to go out for a smoke.

Then he left for Mahilyou and was detained by Mahilyou police a day later.

The video engineer’s colleagues said that he was reserved and rigorous. The 28-year-old man came from Mahilyou to work for the channel in August 2012. He is mentally sane.

It was not the first incident of the kind at BelMuzTV. A picture showing the channel broadcasting some erotic video was published on livejournal in 2011. The channel administration explained:

"It was a normal film that was broadcast by one of the central channels a week later. It was a youth comedy shown in the evening.”
