Vitsebsk human rights activist Leanid Svetsik to stand trial on July 1
The trial of a Vitsebsk human rights activist Leanid Svetsik accused of sending letters containing threats on behalf of an unregistered Russian pro-fascist organization RNU to a number of local cultural and civil activists continues. The judge has already listened to all the witnesses and Mr. Svetsik has looked through all the materials of the criminal case. They make up 11 volumes.
It is noteworthy that the judge, Halina Urbanovich, has not satisfied a single appeal of Leanid Svetsik.
The human rights activist demanded a number of other things including an additional expertise and the appointment of Barys Hamaida (who is the aggrieved party in the case) a defender.
The hearing will continue until July 1. The trial has been appointed for the day.
