A woman named Marina Ovsynnikova, an editor at the Russian main state TV channel Pervyi Kanal, disrupted the main evening news program holding up a poster behind the studio presenter with slogans denouncing war in Ukraine.
The anchor Yekaterina Andreyeva is a symbol of state propaganda in Russia.
The sign, in English and Russian, read: "NO WAR. Stop the war. Don't believe propaganda. They are lying to you here."
Under the recently passed "law on fakes about the Russian army," the protester faces a long prison term.
Before the protest, Marina also recorded a video, in which she said she was sorry for working for a propaganda channel and called Putin as the main person to blame for the brother-killing war in Ukraine.
