Yanukovich to pay first presidential visit to Brussels on March 1
The first visit of the Ukrainian President Victor Yanukovich abroad will be paid to Brussels. It will take place on March 1.
European leaders have unofficially agreed to meet the new Ukrainian leader, reports Korrespondent.net. It is known that Yanukovich will meet the President of the European Union Herman Van Rompuy, the head of the European Commission José Manuel Barroso, the speaker of the European Parliament Jerzy Buzek, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton and the European commissioner for good-neighbourly relations Stefan Fule.
The visit will be officially announced after Victor Yanukovch’s inauguration on February 25. Yanukovich is also planning to visit Moscow and meet Dmitrii Medvedev in the first decade of March.
