Casino owner Yuri Dankoff transferred to Zhodzina colony
The owner of Dankoff Club has been transferred from a detention center in Minsk to a colony in Zhodzina, his appeal not yet considered.
Radio Liberty reports it referring to Dankou’s wife Natallya. Her husband has written that the conditions in Zhodzina are strict but the food is better, she said.
Dankou’s appeal of the decision of Minsk Moscow District Court has to be considered in Minsk City Court. However, the date has not been appointed so far. Yury Dankou’s wife hopes that the city court will reconsider his sentence.
The owner of one of the first Belarusian casinos Dankoff-club was imprisoned for 8 years. His property will be confiscated. He was returned guilty of a number of crimes including tax evasion and creation of a house of prostitution. Yury Dankou pled not guilty and claimed that he would appeal the sentence.
