Yury Dankou imprisoned for 8 years, property to be confiscated
Minsk's Maskouski District Court sentences Dankoff Club owner to 8 years in prison and confiscation of property.
The prosecutor asked to imprison Dankou for 9 years, interfax.by reports.
The businessman was accused of having violated seven articles in the Criminal Code including tax evasion. It made the state lose over 918 million roubles.
Dankou was also accused of running a prostitution ring.
The owner of the well-known Minsk club was detained on September 4, 2012. He has been jailed in Minsk detention centre #1 since then. The trial of Dankou was held behind closed doors.
