Zaika: Venezuela may allocate a credit of up to 2 billion to Belarus
Venezuela is ready to render financial assistance to Belarus. The Ambassador of the Bolivarian republic to Belarus Américo Dias Nunes has claimed it.
ERB has asked a famous economist Leanid Zaika whether the official Minsk could count on Caracas money and what sum could it be.
Zaika: "Why not? The country sells mineral oil; it is an oil-producing state. However, credits won’t help our economy. It is even worse if we try to solve the problem with a negative balance of payment. A deficit of 750 thousands is added every month in the trade with Russia. How much should we accept then? We need 5 or 6 billions to solve all the problems”.
In this case, we could accept it, says the economist. Venezuela has already given a credit of 500 millions to Belarus.
The next sum may total about 1 or 2 billions and it will only help to keep the ruble’s exchange rate. The next generation will have to return the credit.
