15:51 Suit against Yury Sivakou to be considered on March 20
The suit of Valyantsіna Svyatskaya against the former Minister of Internal Affaires Yury Sivakou will be considered on March 20.
The reason for the suit was Sivakou’s article “Special police troops” of July 2006 where he quoted the officer’s code of honour by Adolph Hitler.
The founder of the magazine is the “Belarusian Association of special police troops veterans “Honar”. The former Minister is the head of the organization. Svyatskaya thought that being citizen of Belarus she was insulted by the article.
The preliminary hearing took place on February 20. Sivakou did not attend it. He was represented by a member of “Honar” Albert Taіpau. He apologized on behalf of Sivakou but Svyatskaya is not going to withdraw the claim.
