18:34 Vіktar Kalіna released after giving written undertaking not to leave Belarus
The measures of detention of a famous singer Vіktar Kalіna and his wife Svytlana have been changed.
The Belarusian Ministry of Internal Affaires informs that the singer was released after having given a written undertaking not to leave Belarus, and his wife was released on bail.
Kalina was accused of swindle on January 5. He was arrested on the same day. His wife was detained and arrested in Minsk on January 27.
She was detained while trying to get insurance money (more than 70 million BRB) for her car allegedly stolen in Moscow. The car had been insured for 34 thousand USD.
The police think that the Mercedes that Svytlana Kalina announced to have been stolen, was sold. The singer says the case has been fabricated.
