A traditional Sunday march was held in Belarus on October 25. According to journalists, about 200 thousand people gathered in Minsk -- the biggest number of people to take to the streets of the capital since August 30. Today's march coincided with the last day of the People's Ultimatum declared by Svyatlana Tsikhanouskaya. According to it, the violence of the security forces against the civilian population must be stopped, all political prisoners must be released from prison, and Alyaksandr Lukashenka must resign. If not, a general strike may start in Belarus on Monday.
But the security forces did not heed the demands of the Belarusians and today they brutally dispersed the protesters, using flash grenades and rubber bullets. The Interior Ministry claimed that the protesters "tried to attack the security forces," so non-lethals were used. But Euroradio has a video, which shows that there was a great distance between the security forces and the people. However, the latter suddenly threw stun grenades in the people's backs.
The TG-channel Belyie Khalaty (White Bathrobes) writes that operating rooms have started working in the Military Hospital. The number of wounded is still unknown. In addition, about 10 ambulance brigades worked on Arlouskaya street, where the violent dispersal of the action began.
It is unclear whether the next crime of the authorities against the Belarusian people will affect the decision of the Belarusians not to go to work on Monday. But it is known that many companies have already announced October 26 as a day off.
