7 Georgians detained at Belarus-Lithuania border
Four people have been detained in Voranau District and three – in Ashmyany District.
Seven Caucasians were detained during illegal attempts to cross the Belarusian-Lithuanian border on July 31 and August 1, the State Border Committee reports. Four of them were very close to the Lithuanian border in Voranau District. Three other migrants were detained in Ashmyany District. Two men reached Maladzechna by electric train from Minsk and took a taxi to the regime territory.
All the detained wanted to enter the EU in search of better living conditions. They have been arrested on charges of a state border violation.
Four Georgians and one Ukrainian were detained in the border area on August 1. All of them were handed over to the Belarusian police. An administrative case has been started. Other people connected with the incident are being revealed now, BelaPAN reports.
