Action of solidarity with political prisoners to be held in Kyiv
The Committee for Political Prisoners Release and the solidarity movement 'Razam' organize the action. 'Razam' activists will arrive from Belarus.
At first, the activists plan to hold a picket at Independence Maidan to support 22 Ukrainian political prisoners and 11 Belarusian ones. The picket is scheduled for 12.00. After this, the participants of the action will send postcards to political prisoners and submit appeals to the EU representation in Ukraine and the Belarusian Embassy in Kyiv.
According to Radio Liberty, a round-table discussion on the topic "Why Ukraine and Belarus still have political prisoners in XXI century? Human rights violation at post-Soviet territory" will take place at 3 p.m. in the Oleg Olzhych Foundation (Mazepa Street, 6, Kyiv).
