Rights defender Tonkacheva allowed to stay in Belarus for another month
Human rights lawyer Elena Tonkacheva will be able to remain in Belarus until her complaint with the Minsk police is considered.
Human rights activists Alena Tankachova had her registration in Belarus renewed for one month. The registration will be valid until her complaint to the General Directorate of Internal Affairs of Minsk City Executive Committee is considered. According to the Center for Legal Transformation Lawtrend, the decision to suspend the expulsion will be made later.
The Belarusian human rights defender had her residence permit canceled for a number of traffic violations. She will be obliged to leave Belarus and not to come to our country for three years. Previously, it was assumed that she would have to leave Belarus until 5 December. Now the deadline was extended for another month. Human rights activist is currently appealing the decision of her expulsion.
