Obama to meet Baltic states's presidents in Tallinn
The US president will pay a visit to the Estonian capital today.
Barack Obama will assure the Presidents of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania that they will receive NATO’s support in case of Russia’s aggression, BBC notes. The U.S. President and Presidents Toomas Hendrik Ilves, Andris Bērziņš and Dalia Grybauskaitė will give a press conference after the meeting.
Obama’s visit is called ‘a signal for Moscow’ – the Baltic states are protected by NATO.
Barack Obama will take part in a NATO summit in Wales after the meeting in Estonia. The idea of creating a rapid reaction force of a few thousand people to protect NATO members in the east of Europe from possible Russian aggression will be discussed there.
