Belarus, Russia mull over Schengen visa analogue
Belarus-Russia Union State Secretary Grigory Rapot says the two allies discuss introduction of a joint visa to ease business travel and tourism.
According to him, the joint visa similar to the Schengen one can be introduced within the Union State of Belarus and Russia. Rapota notes that with the "high degree of integration" each country has its own visa policy, which "creates some inconveniences" for business and tourism.
The Secretary of State said that he had already had consultations with the Foreign Ministry of Belarus and Russia. "I believe that we'll try to create some analog of a Schengen visa. This issue currently under discussin," Grigory Rapota was quoted by RIA Novosti.
It is assumed that "some first signals" in this case will appear later this year.
