Belarus citizen killed in Syria? (photo)
A Belarus citizen from Hrodna who was fighting for the Islamic State was possibly killed in Syria. His IDs were published by the Kurdish website Kurdish Daily News after blogger silverrebel had spotted them.
Among the documents, there is a ID issued in Austria in the name of a Dzianis Vasilyeu. He had received a residence permit and got a job in the town od Bregenz. Vasilyeu was 33 years old. On one of his documents, his previous place of residence was stated as Hrodna.
The Kurdish website claimed Dzianis Vasilyeu ended up in Syria from Germany via Turkey. He reportedly fought in the IS units near the Syria-Iraq border. The man was killed during an advance of Kurdish forces and liberation of Sinjar. Last year, he reportedly took part in the mass killings of Kurds.
Kurdish Daily News reports the deseased was a Chechen who lived in Belarus for some time.
