Government experts from Belarus and Russia will meet today in Moscow to discuss mutual recognition of visas, according to the statement by Russian Ambassador in Minsk Alexander Surikov in late October, reports Belsat.
The issue will be followed up at the meeting on 13-14 November in Moscow between Belarus and Russian Foreign Ministers Uladzimir Makei and Sergei Lavrov. Discussions will also take place at the joint collegium of the two foreign policy agencies.
Surikov dodes not rule out that a deal on mutual recognition of visas can be signed already this year. "This will remove the threat of introducing border posts between Belarus and Russia," he added.
