Belarus to enhance measures against shadow income
Citizens will be encouraged to report wages in an envelop, while the government will introduce an income declaration term.
Minister of Taxation Syarhei Nalivaika has described new methods of fighting shadow income when commenting to ONT TV.
Paying shadow wages is going to be unprofitable for employers – the President has already prepared the corresponding decree.
A physical entity that admits receiving shadow wages has to pay taxes and fines now. However, physical entities will be exempt from it by the new decree. The financial responsibility will be imposed on employers.
Income and property declaration is the best way to fight shadow income, the Minister noted. The comparison of the income and expenses stimulates people to refuse from getting shadow wages.
A special expiration term will be introduced for income declaration. It used to be possible to declare your income at any time which delayed check-ups. Such documents will no longer be accepted after a certain term.
