Belarus to receive $1bn loan in early June
Siarhei Rumas, a Belarus representative at the Eurasian Economic Commission Council, says Russia approves a bridge loan worth $1 billion for Belarus.
The credit will be allocated by Russian Bank VTB, he said. The money will arrive within 10-14 days.
The December credit will be prolonged until September, Rumas noted (Belarus received $40 million from Russia at the end of 2013). “We expect to reach an agreement on the allocation of a $2 bn interstate credit by then,” BELTA quotes Rumas.
Alyaksandr Lukashenka reached an agreement about the $2 bn credit with Russia during his recent visit to Moscow. They money was supposed to be allocated in May.
