Belarus set to beef up defense capabilities
The meeting on military security and defense issues is taking place in Minsk on February 14-15. It is a scheduled event according to the Armed Forces Preparations Plan.
Defense Ministry reports the list of participants includes high-ranking officials from the State Secretariat of the Security Council, Defense Ministry, General Staff of the Armed Forces, Interior Ministry, Ministry for Emergencies, Border Control Committee as well as the heads of regional and Minsk City administrations and their deputies, military enlistment officers from the regional centers and Minsk.
The meeting aims to raise the level of individual preparations of official from state bodies and territorial administrations.
The agenda includes theoretical classes on military security and the country's defense. The participants will also learn the main military and political trends and the work of local defense councils. They will also attend practical exercises of territorial defense units at the level of an administrative district.
