Belarus to use up oil bought before New Year in three weeks
Despite the absence of a contract signed by Moscow and Minsk concerning oil trade, supplies of “black gold” to Belarusian oil-processing plants continue according to documents signed before. According to the head of the department for coordination of “Belnaftahim” concern Syarhei Astapets, the oil was bought before the New Year and they stick to those contracts at the moment.
According to a representative of the concern who gave an interview to “Komsomolskaya Pravda in Belarus”, the maximum technical capacity of oil is stocked at Belarusian oil-processing enterprises every year in December. Reservoirs of “Naftan” and “Mazyr oil processing plant” were full of oil as of January 1, 2010. Russian oil has been supplied to Belarus according to the old contracts starting from January 3.
Syarhei Astapets explained that current contracts provide for oil supplies that will be enough for Belarusian oil-processing plants for the next three weeks.
