Belarus woman taken hostage in Syria? (updated, video)
A young woman seen at gun point in the video names herself as Sviatlana Markianovich and says she comes from Belarus.
The woman to the left is a Moldova national. Reading from a sheet of paper, she admits to spying for Hezbollah Shiite militant group. The authentity of the video cannot be independently verified, reports Nasha Niva.
The Ministry of Foreign Affaits of Belarus is studying the circumstances of how this video appeared on the internet, reports Interfax Zapad.
There is a personal page in social networks that belongs to a 30-year-old Sviatlana Markianovich from Zhodzina whose apperance resembles the woman in the video. The page was last updated in mid-June. However, this may be a coincidence.
