Belarusian becomes laureate of international festival OPPA-2015 in Warsaw
Volha Akulich from Minsk has become a laureate of the 33rd international festival OPPA-2015 in Warsaw.
OPPA is an international bard festival, Polish, Belarusian, Lithuanian, Russian, German and Irish authors took part in it. Belarusian Tatstsyana Belanohaya won the grand prix in 2006. It was the only time when a non-Polish author won the contest.
Three Belarusian authors have made it to the final this year – Volha Kalmakova from Hrodna and Minskers Natallya Nikitsina and Volha Akulich. Hrodna inhabitant Yury Dubovik and his band Vochy reached the semi-final.
Volha Akuylich has made it to the Colden Give of the laureates. Polish author Barbara Beuth won the contest.
Well-known musician Yury Nestsyarenka was Akulich’s accompanist at the festival. They have been cooperating for a long time.
