Belarus restricts access to Russian website over 'hatred language'
The Belarusian Ministry of Information has restricted access to the website sputnikipogrom.com following Minsk's Central District Court ruling describing information on this website as extremist.
The decision was made on the basis of the experts' conclusion of the National Expert Commission, which found information that aroused hatred and hostility ‘on the basis of language and nationality’ and called for changing the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus by violence.
The Belarusian Ministry of Information also decided to restrict access to several other Internet resources in January 2017 (reported by the MIA). One of the websites was advertising the medicine DiabetNot and the access to it was restricted after a written appeal sent by the Ministry of Trade and Antimonopoly Regulation.
