The Belarusian nuclear power plant is still out of order. This was confirmed by Belenergo CEO Andrei Panchanka on Wednesday. According to him, the first unit is still undergoing "scheduled preventive maintenance," while "sensor diagnostics" are continuing at the second unit.
"Given that there is a large number of such sensors on the unit, their revision takes a certain amount of time," the Energy Ministry's press service quoted Panchanka as saying.
The Energy Ministry noted that the second power unit of the BelNPP was out of order almost a month ago. It was "temporarily disconnected from the grid" after "one of the sensors was triggered. Since then, its "diagnostics" have been going on. It was claimed that these actions "do not affect the safety of the plant and its equipment".
The fact that the second unit was shut down due to a leak in the first circuit was already known from unofficial sources. And it happened in the night of December 4, 2024.
The first unit of the Belarusian NPP has been under "scheduled maintenance" since the beginning of December. The second unit was under repair in the summer-autumn, in the middle of October it was put into operation. But something went wrong.
