Belarusian products too expensive for Chinese websites
Belarus is working to promote ts products on popular Chinese websites AliExpress and Alibaba. The statement was made on December 14 by Deputy Minister of Trade Iryna Narkevich:
"Some of the Bellegpromgoods is already being promoted at AliExpress and Alibaba... There are agreements with the major Chinese sites, for them to come to us to promote our products. We are interested in it. And, by the way, they are interested in it, because after a period of active expansion of Chinese goods on world markets, they are interested in the quality foreign goods of the medium price segment. Just like our products are."
Euroradio decided to see what Belarusian goods can be purchased at the popular Chinese sites. We came across no local goods at AliExpress. But there is Belarusian vodka and candy made at Spartak and Kommunarka factories, and the crystal from the Nieman factory, as well as Belarus and Polesie tractors, and Lida paint, and toy from the Palessie factory sold at Alibaba.
"We do not cooperat directly with Alibaba do not work. It is done by our office in Germany, says head of marketing department of the company Palessie Andrei Marchuk. - But there are placed ads for wholesalers. Accordingly, buying our toy on a Chinese website is not possible. It can be done on the Internet sites of Belarus and Russia, where some 200 online stores promote products of Polesie. Now more and more people buy goods over the Internet. Therefore, there is potential in it."
The Dzyrzhynsk sewing factory Eliz, however, is not planning to place their products on the Chinese sites, particularly because of the price competition.
"These sites have the prices that are below average. And our products are of the average and above above average level," said representative of the company's marketing department.
There is also little hope that you will be able to buy Elema coat at AliExpress and Alibaba: the leadership is not considering these issues. But it is possible that in a while some Chinese websites willl be selling knitwear from Svitanak:
"We are not working with these websites, but considering the options of cooperating with them."
