Belarus-owned sanatorium still works in Crimea
The Black Sea resort operates despite a slow demand from Belarusians due to travel constraints caused by the conflict in eastern Ukraine.
The sanatorium Belarus in Miskhor has not stopped working, BelaPAN reports. Director of the Republican Health and Sanatorium Centre Henadz Balbatouski announced it at a press conference in Minsk on April 14.
However, it is impossible to reach the sanatorium from the territory of Ukraine at the moment, he admitted. The sanatorium has not been accepting citizens who buy their travel packages with the state budget money for two years. Belarusians can buy full price travel packages in such agencies as CentreKurort, Balbatouski said. However, Belarusians are not ready to spend three days travelling to Crimea across Russia, surveys revealed.
The Crimean sanatorium was not a loss-making company in 2014 although it was not fully booked. Belarusians may start visiting the sanatorium when it is possible to reach it by train or plane, Balbatouksi hopes.
The sanatorium is run by the President’s Administration.
