Big group of illegal migrants detained at Latvian border
Polatsk frontier guards detained a big group of illegal migrants at the Belarusian-Latvian border on the morning of November 16. They noticed three suspicious cars in the border zone in Verhnyadzvinsk District.
A Ford Focus, Mitsubishi Lancer and Volkswagen Т5 with Russian number plates were stopped. 11 Vietnamese citizens were in the cars – they wanted to enter the European Union in search of better life. A Kyrgyz citizen and two Russians were their drivers.
The incident is being investigated, the press service of the State Border Committee reports.
Frontier guards also caught several illegal migrants last weekend. A Russian and a Ukrainian trying to enter the EU in search of jobs were detained at the Polish border in Brest Province. A suspicious young man with a fake Egyptian passport was detained at the National Airport Minsk. He wanted to fly to Milan. He had bought the passport in Egypt to get to the EU in search of better life, the young man confessed.
