Bookmakers: Aleksiyevich may get Nobel Prize

The Swedish Academy has received 210 applications for the literature prize this year. 36 authors have never been nominated before.
The British gaming company Ladbrokes is accepting stakes on the Nobel Literature Prize laureate now, BelaPAN reports. Belarusian Svyatlana Aleksiyevich is one of those who have a high chance to win the prestigious prize. According to Ladbrokes, she is the third possible candidate. She follows Japanese Haruki Murakami and Kenyan Ngũgĩ wa Thiong'o.
Svyatlana Aleksiyevich was nominated for the Nobel Literature Prize in 2013 - for her works War Does Not Have A Women’s Face, Zinc Boys, Enchanted by Death, Last Witnesses and Chernobyl Prayer.
