Border guards: Ukraine's MP Bryhinets banned from entering Union State
Belarus' Border Control Committee explains why the Ukrainian MP with a diplomatic passport was denied entry to Belarus.
The border control officials note that during passport controls at the Minsk International Aiport Olexandr Bryhinets was identified as a person on the travel-ban list of people that are not allowed to enter the territory of the Union State of Russia and Belarus. According to the border guards quoted by state news agency BELTA, the list is drawn up by law-enforcement agencies of Belarus and Russia.
The Ukrainian MP spent the night in the transit area of Minsk International Airport. In the morning of July 17, he was put on board Belavia plane that was departing to Keiv. The ticket was covered by Belavia company. The border guards stressed the MP was not deported. Rather, he was denied entry.
According to the border guards, the Ukranian expressed no complaints against the border guards.
