Clashes in Kiev: cars and Party of Regions’ office burning, people wounded
Thousands of protesters have come to the governmental area in order to block the Verkhovna Rada today.
They demand that the Parliament should bring back the Constitution of 2004. Leader of the opposition faction UDAR Vitali Klichko has demanded that Victor Yanukovich should announce early parliamentary and presidential elections, UNIAN reports.
Meanwhile, clashes with the police have been registered on the way to the Verkhovna Rada. Policemen are using water-cannons, flash-bang grenades and rubber bullets. There are injured people on both sides. A truck that was blocking traffic in Shelkovichnaya Street has been set on fire. New barricades are being built. Tyre casings are burning in Grushevski Street again.
Protesters have seized the central office of the Party of Regions and set it on fire, espresso.tv reports.
