Conservative Christian Party allowed to stage rally in Losyca park on Nov 6
Minsk City Executive Committee has allowed the Conservative Christian Party of Belarusian Popular Front to stage a tradition march to the Losyca park in Minsk on November 6, reports BelaPAN. Losyca is one of the mass execution sites during the Stalin rule in the Soviet Union.
The opposition usually holds this rally one week after the action in Kurapaty when commemoration of the victims of Stalin's repressions is timed with the Remembrance Day - Dziady.
In a commentary to BelaPAN, Conservative Christian Party deputy chairman Yuras Belenski said this time around the city officials did not requires the organizers to pay for the services of the police, ambulance and communal workers.
Demonstrators are expected to gather at noon near Losycki Culture Center. The march will begin at 1230 along Majakouskaha Street towards Losycki Jar. The action will conclude with a rally and speeches at 1500.
Last year, bad weather prevented Minskers from taking part in the action - only some 50 people, mostly Conservative Christian Party activists, attended the rally.
