Deputy chief of Homiel regional police on trial in Minsk
Police colonel Syarhei Zaitsau put on trial in the capital to have an objective and independent process.
A trial over a criminal case involving police colonel Syarhei Zaitsau has opened in the Central District Court of Minsk. According to BELTA, the deputy chief of the Homiel Regional Police, Head of the Department of Finance and the Support are is accused of abusing power or official authority.
The investigation highlights two episodes. Zaitsau's actions undermined on a major scale the current building maintenance of the Homiel police department. The losses totaled more than 68 million rubles. In the second case, as stated by the investigation, Zaitsau illegally ordered his subordinates to fix his private car using the staff of the car fleet of internal ministry.
The trial of the Homiel policeman is held in Minsk to provide objective and independent process.
