Schengen visas may become cheaper for Belarusians
The term of receiving a visa may be shortened to 10 days and the procedure may be simplified.
"Belarus has officially responded to the invitation to start negotiations on the visa regime simplification with the EU. The agreements reached as a result of these negotiations may lower the cost of visas for all Belarusians and allow certain categories of citizens to get them for free,” interfax.by quotes head of the visa department of the Directorate-General for Home Affairs Jan de Chester.
According to the European Commission, 47% of the visas given to Belarusians last year were multiple-entry. Over 30% of all the visas were free which is 2% more than in 2012.
Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs Alena Kupchyna conducted negotiations about the simplification of visa procedures and readmission in Brussels at the end of January.
