Drivers detained at Stop Tax action stand trial in Minsk
Kanstantsin Hlushko and Andrei Samohin have been jailed in Akrestsina prison since Friday.
They have been accused of disobedience to the police. Hlushko and Samohin are standing trial in Minsk Lenin District Court today.
The drivers that blocked traffic near the circus on Friday is probably meant. The police also detained his passenger. Drivers are protesting against the introduction of the state car tax in 2014.
Driving inspectors are making reports about “violations of the road rules in Independence Avenue on December 20” – the day when the action Stop Tax was held in Minsk. Reports have been drawn up against the drivers who “hindered the traffic”.
Reports for “groundless signaling” have also been written. They are being sent to Minsk courts now.
