Driver’s epileptic fit caused Homel bus accident? (photo)
Emergencies Ministry officials say the driver may have suffered an epileptic attack when he sent his uncontrolled vehicle into pedestrians.
The driver was taken to hospital, press secretary of the department Ruslan Habrylou said:
Habrylyou: “The driver was in an inadequate state - he was foaming. Four policemen took him out of the bus. He was taken to the Patriotic War Veterans Hospital with the preliminary diagnosis of epilepsy."
A bus left the road and headed for Hramyka Park destroying benches and wooden sculptures on its way in Homel at about 12 p.m., Euroradio reported earlier. The bus ran over a 42-eyar-old woman at a pedestrian crossing, she got stuck under the bus. Rescuers took her out but the woman died on the spot.
A 59-year-old passenger was injured.
