Eastern Ukraine militants to be shot at
Acting deputy head of presidential administration Andrey Senchenko says security forces will shoot to kill if armed militants do not surrender.
The government is not against peaceful protests, he noted. However, separatists have accumulated a lot of weapons and the protests are no longer peaceful, Senchenko noted.
"We asked people with baseball bats not to violate the order and go to work. However, we will use weapons against terrorists like it is done all over the world,” UNIAN quotes the acting head of the President’s Administration.
If they do not lay down arms, the special units will be ordered to shoot, Andrei Senchenko stressed. Actually, an ultimatum has been presented to separatists.
The riot police released the building of Kharkiv regional administration from armed protesters last night. 64 people were detained. Negotiations about laying own arms and leaving the seized buildings are being conducted in Lugansk and Donetsk.
