Edward Snowden statue removed in New York (photo)

The NY police are investigating the sudden installation of a monument to Edward Snowden in a Brooklyn park. A group of anonymous sculptors installed an Edward Snowden bust on top of a memorial to Revolutionary War Soldiers at night.
A Snowden statue of more than a metre long and weighing 45 kilos appeared in the park Fort Green in northern Brooklyn on Monday night. The sculptors wrote their hero’s name on the monument.
The authorities removed the monument the next day because it had appeared in the park without permission, BBC reports. Some New Yorkers are thrilled because they believe that Snowden fought for freedom. Others think that the monument insulted the memory of the heroes the memorial was installed for.
Edward Snowden is a former system administrator for the Central Intelligence Agency wanted for leaking classified information from the National Security Agency to the mainstream media. Snowden is in Russia now. He received political asylum there.
