EU Ministers to discuss new Russia sanctions
The black list may be expanded within a week.
The EU Ministers will gather at another Ukraine meeting on January 29. They will discuss new Russia sanctions there. The session has been summoned by head of European diplomats Federica Mogherini, RIA Novosti reports.
The EU Ministers are planning to discuss their response to Russia’s actions. Russia is enhancing its support of militants in Donets Basin. 30 peaceful citizens were killed and 100 were injured in the attack on Mariupol. Militants have started attacking other positions in the area.
The EU is likely to expand the existing ‘black list’. There are 132 people on the list now: Russian officials, representatives of the self-declared republics ‘DPR’ and ‘LPR’ and 28 legal entities. Further restrictions in the sphere of capital and technologies of oil and gas extraction are being discussed.
The EU Ministers are planning to prolong the existing Russia sanctions for 6 more months and expand the black list of Russian citizens and companies, BBC notes.
