EU strengthens Moscow sanctions
13 names and 2 companies have been added on the EU black list.
The EU member states agreed to strengthen Russia sanctions in Brussels on May 12. Sanctions were imposed on 13 people responsible for the destabilization of the situation in Ukraine, Deutsche Welle refers to dpa. Two Crimean companies nationalized by Russia were also added on the list.
The EU leaders will discuss new sanctions if the Ukrainian presidential election is not held on May 25, German Minister for Foreign Affairs Frank-Walter Steinmeier claimed. Austrian Foreign Minister Sebastian Kurz warned about the danger of imposing more and more sanctions on the Russian administration.
Swiss President Didier Burkhalter presiding in the OSCE presented a plan of measures for de-escalation of the situation in Ukraine before the presidential election.
