EU, US diplomats visit places of mass executions in Belarus
The heads of diplomatic missions from the US and EU member states on November 5 visited Kurapaty and Trastsyanets.
These are the sites of mass graves of the victims of the totalitarian regimes of the XX century.
The information is reported by BelaPAN, quoting the press office of the EU representation in Minsk. Its has become a tradition for the diplomats to visit these places on Dzyady - the day of ancestors' memorial in order to pay the tribute of respect to the memory of the victims.
The diplomats laid flowers to the memorial signs in Kurapaty, including the Cross of Memory and the hill near the stone, defined by the Belarusian authorities as the place for the future memorial. It should be erected to honour the memory of people, killed and buried here.
