Ex-political prisoner Zmitser Dashkevich detained in Minsk
It has happened at about 12 p.m. today, on November 6.
Zmitser’s wife Nasta Dashkevich told Euroradio:
"The Young Front has launched a campaign to rename Lenin Square. They started collecting signatures after Dzyady. Today was the last but one day… He was detained near GUM in Minsk. The police said: either leave, or we will detain you. Zmitser asked his companions to leave and stayed there alone.”
Zmitser phoned her and said that he was being delivered to Minsk Central District Department of the Interior, Nasta Dashkevich said.
Zmitser Dashkevich was released at the end of August 2013. He was imprisoned in December 2010. He is still under preventive supervision and it is not clear what the detention consequences may be.
