Ex-political prisoner’s criminal case re-opened
Ales Malchanau’s criminal case started for an affront to the state symbols was re-opened on June 4.
The case was started on October 27, 2011 and suspended on March 27, 2012 in connection with the impossibility of investigation.
The Barysau activist was accused of an affront to the state flag. The reason for it was the fact the paint had been spilt on the state flags in the centre of Barysau.
Malchanau’s house was searched on October 27, 2011. Policemen were looking for ‘forbidden’ national symbols. Alyaksandr was arrested and his PC was confiscated. However, he pled not guilty and the case was suspended. The activist did not expect the case to be re-opened, Radio Liberty reports.
