Father Alexander Nadson to be buried in London today
He died on April 16.
The well-known Greek Catholic priest Alexander Nadson will be buried in London today. The funeral ceremony will be held in St Mary's Church, East Finchley. A service in his memory will also be held in Minsk Red Catholic Church.
Father Alexander Nadson died in London on April 16 at the age of 88. He was a spiritual leader for Belarusians aboard: he wrote several books on the history of Belarus, the director of the Francis Skaryna Belarusian Library and Museum in London and the head of a Chernobyl charity fund.
The Vatican officially approved the liturgical texts translated by Nadson into Belarusian in 1994. Father Nadson visited Belarus in October 2010 to attend the presentation of the book Your Sun Will Never Set And Your Moon Will Never Hide. It was dated for his 80th anniversary and the 50th anniversary of his service in church.
